This car park site is surrounded by an eclectic series of buildings. Blank walls ring a large proportion of the site, creating potential for proposals that do not impinge on the rights of light of neighbours. Different building heights and roof types, ranging from flat to mansard and duo pitch roofs, generate a complex assemblage of built forms. New buildings and extension have altered the site through time as neighbouring developments evolved. The proposal creates retail / café / restaurant use on the ground and basement levels and commercial on the upper levels. Build cost £4M with a 15-month construction programme.
